Experienced Appliance Installer – Finish Carpentry & Skilled Trades

N.F. Landis & Son, Inc. | Souderton, PA

Full-Time | Monday–Friday | Competitive Hourly Pay Based on Experience

More Than Appliance Installation. We're Looking for a Skilled Craftsman.

Are you an experienced appliance installer, finish carpenter, or mechanically skilled tradesperson who takes pride in doing things the right way?

N.F. Landis & Son is looking for an experienced professional who brings more to the job than simply delivering and connecting appliances.

Our installation teams handle a wide variety of projects, from standard appliance replacements to complex installations requiring finish carpentry, cabinet modifications, ventilation work, plumbing, electrical connections, and creative problem-solving.

We're looking for someone who can think through a challenging installation, develop the right solution, and deliver professional results that look as good as they function.

Who We Are

N.F. Landis & Son is a fourth-generation, family-owned appliance business serving Bucks and Montgomery Counties since 1932.

We sell, deliver, install, and service the appliances our customers rely on. Our reputation is built on quality workmanship, knowledgeable employees, and exceptional customer service.

We don't just install appliances. We make sure they're installed correctly, safely, and professionally—even when the installation requires more than simply connecting a new appliance.

What You'll Do

Professional Appliance Installation

• Install residential appliances, including refrigerators, dishwashers, ranges, cooktops, wall ovens, built-in microwaves, ventilation hoods, laundry equipment, and other specialty appliances.
• Perform complex built-in and custom appliance installations.
• Evaluate existing installation conditions, identify potential issues, and determine appropriate solutions.
• Follow manufacturer installation specifications and applicable safety requirements.

Finish Carpentry & Cabinet Modifications

• Perform precise, finish-grade carpentry associated with appliance installations.
• Modify existing cabinetry, fillers, trim, shelving, and cabinet openings to accommodate new appliances.
• Accurately measure, cut, fit, scribe, and install finished materials.
• Make professional-looking modifications to cabinet panels, trim, and surrounding finishes.
• Use woodworking tools and equipment to produce clean, accurate results.
• Maintain the appearance and integrity of customers' existing kitchens and cabinetry.

Ventilation & Ductwork

• Install kitchen ventilation systems, including range hoods, under-cabinet hoods, chimney hoods, and built-in ventilation equipment.
• Install, modify, and connect residential ventilation ductwork.
• Work with existing duct configurations and determine appropriate installation solutions.
• Properly secure, seal, and support ductwork while following manufacturer specifications and applicable codes.
• Identify airflow, clearance, and venting concerns during installations.

Plumbing & Electrical

• Perform appliance-related plumbing connections, including water supply lines, drain connections, shutoff valves, and related fittings.
• Troubleshoot installation-related plumbing problems and address leaks or connection issues.
• Perform appropriate appliance-related electrical connections, wiring, and installation modifications within applicable licensing and code requirements.
• Identify existing electrical or plumbing conditions that require corrective work or a qualified licensed professional.
• Use testing equipment and safe work practices to verify proper appliance operation.

Customer Service & Professionalism

• Protect customers' homes, flooring, countertops, cabinetry, and surrounding property.
• Communicate clearly with customers about installation requirements and completed work.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and professional work area.
• Work efficiently without sacrificing quality or safety.
• Document completed installations and communicate any issues requiring follow-up.
• Assist in mentoring and training apprentice installers.

What We're Looking For

Required Qualifications

• Professional hands-on experience in appliance installation, finish carpentry, cabinetry, plumbing, electrical, HVAC, or a related skilled trade.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and the ability to troubleshoot problems independently.
• Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, measuring equipment, and installation equipment.
• Ability to read measurements accurately and perform precise installation work.
• Ability to learn new installation methods and adapt to different jobsite conditions.
• Attention to detail and pride in workmanship.
• Ability to perform physically demanding work and safely move heavy appliances.
• Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record.
• Dependability, professionalism, and strong customer-service skills.

Highly Desirable Experience

• Finish-grade carpentry and cabinet modifications.
• Installing custom or built-in appliances.
• Kitchen ventilation and ductwork installation.
• Residential plumbing connections and modifications.
• Appliance-related electrical work.
• Working in occupied homes where protecting existing finishes is essential.
• Diagnosing and solving challenging installation problems in the field.

You do not need to have mastered every one of these trades. We value candidates who bring strong skills in one or more areas and are motivated to expand their abilities through hands-on training.

What We Offer

• Competitive hourly compensation based on experience and demonstrated skills.
• Opportunities for pay increases as technical abilities and responsibilities grow.
• Full-time, Monday–Friday schedule with no regularly scheduled weekends.
• Local work throughout Bucks and Montgomery Counties.
• Health, dental, and vision insurance options.
• Paid holidays and paid time off.
• 401(k) with company match.
• Company-provided specialty tools and equipment.
• Employee discounts.
• Opportunities for career advancement and leadership.
• A stable, family-owned company with a long-standing reputation in the community.

Your Skills Matter Here

We recognize that a great installer is more than someone who knows how to connect an appliance.

The best installers understand how things work, solve unexpected problems, work with precision, and take pride in the finished product.

If you're a skilled tradesperson who enjoys working with your hands, solving different challenges every day, and delivering craftsmanship you can be proud of, we want to hear from you.

Apply today and build your future with N.F. Landis & Son.
