Job Description
Join Our Dynamic Emergency Room Team!


- Shift Information:
- 12-hour Evening Shifts: 3 PM - 3 AM
- Weekend Requirement: 6 weekend shifts in a 6-week rotation

- Unit Highlights:
- 12 beds + 1 triage room in the ER/Trauma Center
- Fast track included within the 12 rooms
- Separate Triage area; Travelers required to triage
- Intermixed ER holds with a transfer goal of 3 hours
- 1 ligature-free psych/seclusion room for patient safety
- In-house security available 24/7

- Patient Overview:
- Average of 88 patients per day
- Staffing Ratios: 1:4, flexing to 1:6 for urgent care cases

- Required Certifications:
- ACLS
- PALS
- NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program)
- TNCC
- NIHSS

- Experience & Skills Needed:
- 2 years recent experience in an Emergency Room
- Ability to manage diverse patient types with a 60/40 split of urgent care to ER patients

- Team Structure:
- 1-2 MDs available 24/7 + 1 Mid-level provider for 10-20 hours a day
- Charge Nurse and House Supervisor on-site
- No nurse aids, paramedics, or patient sitters in the unit

- Technology & Equipment:
- EPIC Charting System
- Hamilton C1 Vent for respiratory needs, with nurses performing all skills
- Nurse-administered drawing for lab tests; onsite X-ray/CT

- Scheduling & Orientation:
- 6-week rotations with 12-hour shifts
- 1 major holiday in summer and 1 in winter required
- No call or standby requirements
- Comprehensive on-site orientation with shadowing and online modules
