Human Resources Generalist Transdev in San Diego, CA is hiring a Human Resources Generalist. The Human Resources Generalist supports the management team with day-to-day Human Resources and payroll operations, including full-cycle recruiting, employee administration, payroll support, leaves of absence, employee status changes, and separation processing. This position also serves as a key operational partner to the Payroll Manager and plays an important role in ensuring accurate payroll administration, employee data maintenance, payroll recordkeeping, California final pay compliance, and offboarding administration. The Human Resources Generalist partners closely with Human Resources, Operations, Corporate Payroll, and management to ensure HR and payroll processes are completed accurately, timely, and in accordance with company policies, applicable collective bargaining agreements (CBAs), and federal, state, and local requirements. We are seeking a customer service-oriented HR professional who is highly organized, detail-oriented, and dedicated to supporting employees and operational excellence. Key Responsibilities: Support day-to-day payroll operations and serve as an operational partner to the Payroll Manager. Review employee timekeeping and payroll information for completeness and accuracy and assist with resolving discrepancies before payroll processing. Coordinate with Operations, management, and Corporate Payroll to research and resolve payroll and timekeeping discrepancies. Support payroll administration for drivers, staff, and other assigned employee groups. Process and maintain employee status changes, including new hires, transfers, promotions, pay changes, leaves of absence, reinstatements, and separations. Assist with payroll adjustments, corrections, retroactive payments, paid-time-off transactions, and other payroll-related requests. Support payroll reporting, reconciliation, recordkeeping, and audit activities. Maintain accurate payroll documentation and employee records in applicable HRIS, payroll, and timekeeping systems. Assist with the interpretation and application of applicable CBA provisions affecting payroll, including wage rates, seniority, premiums, overtime, paid leave, and other contractual pay requirements. Qualifications: High school diploma or equivalent. Minimum of two (2) years of Payroll and Human Resources experience. Experience supporting payroll, timekeeping, employee status changes, and termination processing preferred. Working knowledge of California employment and wage-and-hour requirements preferred. Experience working in a unionized environment and with collective bargaining agreements (CBAs) preferred. Must be able to work shifts or flexible work schedules as needed. Physical Requirements: Work outside in varying temperature, weather, and humidity conditions-100% of the job is performed outside, work alone, and in remote locations. Sit for extended periods (up to 6–8 hours per day); frequently walk for long distances and on possible sloped ground or slippery and uneven surfaces Push and pull objects up to XX pounds, occasionally throughout the workday; lift material weighing up to 50 lbs. with or without assistance; occasionally bend, kneel, or crouch to files or equipment stored at ground level Withstand heavy traffic areas while performing the duties of the job; tolerate exposure to considerable amounts of dust, vehicle fumes and noise.
