Registered Nurse Labor and Delivery

Job Summary:
Seeking a Registered Nurse for Labor and Delivery with a minimum of 3 years of experience. This 20-week contract begins on 11/16, requiring night shifts and voluntary on-call duties, with a focus on high-risk obstetric care.

Responsibilities:

• Provide compassionate and skilled care to neonatal, adolescent, and adult patients in a high-acuity obstetric setting.
• Utilize external fetal monitoring to assess fetal well-being and recognize abnormal heart rate patterns.
• Circulate during surgical procedures such as C-sections, maintaining sterile technique and assisting the surgical team.
• Collaborate with OB hospitalists and anesthesia teams to ensure safe delivery and postpartum care.
• Float to Perinatal units as needed, demonstrating flexibility in staffing assignments.
• Maintain accurate documentation and communication using SBAR, Omnicell, eMD Allscripts, and other unit systems.

Qualifications:

• Valid California RN license required at the time of submission.
• Minimum three years of obstetric nursing experience, with proficiency in fetal monitoring.
• Certification in AHA BLS, ACLS, NRP, and AWHONN.
• Demonstrated ability to recognize and treat abnormal fetal heart rate patterns.
• Advanced EKG certification with 80% passing score required.
• Ability to work night shifts, weekends, and most holidays, with limited RTO approval.
