Randstad is currently seeking a qualified Temporary Buyer to join the Procurement Department at Stony Brook University. This is a fantastic opportunity to provide critical operational support to a dynamic university team while a permanent staff member is away serving on military leave. salary: $18 - $20 per hour
shift: First
work hours: 8:30 AM - 5 PM
education: No Degree Required

Responsibilities

As a Buyer, you will play a pivotal role in the university's daily operations by managing the end-to-end purchasing workflow:

• Procurement Management: Review and process purchase orders for goods and services utilizing  Wolmart (Jaggaer) , the University's e-procurement system.

• Vendor Relations: Request quotes, negotiate competitive pricing on various commodities, and resolve issues regarding backorders, returns, and damages.

• Compliance & Accounting: Ensure all orders meet Campus, State, and Research Foundation policies while partnering with Accounts Payable to resolve pricing inquiries.

• Data Analysis: Analyze requisitions to determine correct expenditure types and assist management with data gathering for strategic decisions.
