SCHEDULE: M-F

Responsibilities This position is responsible for the routine calibration and testing of substation equipment, network equipment, distribution equipment, and communication systems utilized on the Eversource system. The role also involves minor troubleshooting and repairs, directing, performing, and being responsible for routine calibration and testing assignments that require a thorough knowledge of cognizant rules, regulations, and procedures, and a working knowledge of the company’s engineering practices applicable to the area of activity. Responsibilities include directing and instructing other Power Systems Technicians, coordinating work activities with employees of other departments, consulting firms, municipalities, manufacturers, customers, and contractors, and ensuring the safe, efficient, and productive performance of work with proper tools, equipment, and materials. Minimum Qualifications MUST POSSESS an Associate's Degree in Electrical Engineering or Electrical Engineering Technology. Please do not apply if you do not have one of these degrees. Must demonstrate personality traits such as accuracy, initiative, judgment, originality and attention to detail. Must also demonstrate qualities of leadership and the ability to plan for, coordinate and direct activities with individuals and groups engaged in engineering and technical activities. Must pass the minimum physical requirements as prescribed by Eversource. The incumbent must have corrective vision, normal color perception, hearing and a sense of smell. Must possess a valid driver’s license to operate motor vehicles and be willing to obtain the appropriate driver’s license and Eversource qualification to operate motor vehicles of any class and type required by the company based on departmental needs.
