Registered Nurse - PCU

The Registered Nurse PCU provides specialized care to patients who are medically stable but require close monitoring and ongoing nursing interventions. Working in the Progressive Care Unit, the RN bridges the gap between intensive care and general medical-surgical units, managing patients with complex conditions such as cardiac, respiratory, and post-operative needs. This role demands strong clinical judgment, rapid response to changes in patient status, and collaboration with interdisciplinary teams to ensure high-quality, patient-centered care. Key Responsibilities Monitor and assess patients with acute and complex medical conditions Administer medications and perform drug dose titration as prescribed Interpret telemetry and other specialized monitoring equipment Collaborate with physicians and healthcare teams to develop and implement care plans Respond to changes in patient condition with appropriate interventions Educate patients and families on treatment plans and recovery processes Maintain accurate documentation of patient care and progress Supervise nursing assistants and support staff in the PCU Ensure patient safety, comfort, and emotional support Required Qualifications Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) Active Registered Nurse (RN) license Minimum 2-3 years of experience in progressive care or acute care settings Proficiency in electronic health record systems and telemetry monitoringStrong clinical assessment and critical thinking skills Ability to work effectively in high-stress environments Preferred Qualifications Experience in cardiac or respiratory care units Familiarity with hospital systems like Epic, Cerner, or Mediexcel #J-18808-Ljbffr Compunnel, Inc.
