About the Position

Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Mother-Baby / Couplet Care / Post Partum Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Mid Hours per Shift: 8 hours (15:00 - 23:30) Experience: Minimum 2 years of experience required License: Valid RN License Certifications: BLS, NRP Must-Have: - Previous Charge Experience: Preferred - Charting System Experience Required: Epic Description: Responsible for providing direct patient care to specific patient populations effectively using the nursing process. Utilizes assessment, planning, implementation, and continual reassessment as the foundation for care delivery. Serves as a patient advocate. Effectively coordinates care and continually promotes safety and clinical service quality in daily practice. Requires adherence to protocols for administration of medications and treatments. Involves teaching families about care and management of newborns. Assesses and manages a variety of postpartum conditions. Collaborates with interdisciplinary teams to deliver comprehensive care. Supports breastfeeding education and infant care practices. Ensures compliance with safety and infection control guidelines. Participates in the orientation and training of new staff as necessary. May float to assist in labor and delivery as a baby nurse. Manages patient assignments while maintaining appropriate patient ratios. Engages in patient and family discharge planning and education.
