Assistant Director for Violence Prevention Position Designation: EHRA Non-Faculty Employment Type: Permanent - Full-time Schedule: 8:00 am – 5:00 pm; Monday – Friday with occasional evening and weekend hours required, as necessary. Hours per week: 40 FLSA Status: Exempt Work Location: Student Health Center Salary Range: $47,379 - $60,976 Primary Purpose of Department: The mission of the Center for Wellness Promotion is to equip students and the campus community with comprehensive health education and prevention strategies that build health literacy, enhance informed decision-making, and promote academic success and lifelong wellbeing. Our team of multidisciplinary professionals addresses issues such as substance prevention and recovery, sexual health, interpersonal violence prevention, mental health and suicide prevention, and a variety of other wellness topics that affect college students. Our vision is to empower the University community to develop healthier attitudes and behaviors in order to create a safer, more welcoming, and equitable campus culture. Primary Purpose of Position: The Assistant Director’s primary responsibility includes overseeing the implementation of interpersonal violence prevention and sexual health education programming, including workshops, campus-wide outreach events, and awareness campaigns. This position leads the implementation of the Green Dot Strategy, a national, evidence‑based bystander intervention strategy designed to mobilize students, staff, and faculty to react, intervene, and engage in proactive behaviors to prevent interpersonal violence. Program Coordination Oversee implementation of the Green Dot Strategy, including coordinating an active training schedule and action‑based events to mobilize students in violence prevention Develop and maintain collaborative relationships with key stakeholders (student leaders, faculty, staff, and community partners) to promote Green Dot and integrate it into campus culture Recruit, develop, and lead a multidisciplinary team of faculty and staff serving as Green Dot trainers Coordinate large‑scale campus‑wide events and activities with a focus on interpersonal violence and sexual health, such as lectures, workshops, interactive outreach events, and educational programming. Oversee coordination of existing signature events such as Take Back the Night, Relationship Violence Awareness Month, Stalking Awareness Month, and Sexual Assault Awareness Month. Identify and collaborate with campus and community partners to enhance outreach and increase student access to health and well‑being resources. Health Education Oversee development of educational programming and content with a focus on interpersonal violence and sexual health, including workshops, marketing, outreach, and social media Serve as a health educator to students by delivering workshops, training, and presentations on interpersonal violence and sexual health topics, including stalking, relationship violence, sexual violence, and healthy relationships Assist in the development of training and educational programming on additional wellbeing topics impacting college students Assessment Use appropriate assessment and evaluation methods to measure program impact and assess learning outcomes Coordinate and maintain all data collection activities for violence prevention and sexual health programming Assist with the coordination of departmental signature events, support departmental education programs (i.e., Wellness Jeopardy), active participant in staff meetings, assist with monthly reports, etc., and other duties as assigned Qualifications Master’s or advanced degree in a related field required. Most relevant fields of study include public health, health promotion, higher education leadership, social work, gender and sexuality studies, or related fields. Preferred Education, Knowledge, Skills and Experience Master’s degree in related fields required. Excellent verbal and written communication skills, as well as skill in presenting effectively to faculty, staff, and students. Strong ability to collaborate effectively to address programmatic issues and needs, while making independent, professional decisions and considering the input of various stakeholders. Demonstrated skills in a variety of educational methods, including presentations, workshops, trainings, and small group discussion/facilitation. Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously, manage time efficiently, and prioritize tasks. Certifications and Licenses Necessary Certifications/Licenses: Green Dot Overview Training. Preferred Certifications/Licenses Certification in the Green Dot College Strategy – Instructor Certification. If not Green Dot instructor certified at the time of hire, Green Dot certification is required at the earliest available opportunity.
