Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) / Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN)

Job Description

This position involves working 12-hour night shifts in a long-term care setting. Candidates must be willing to float to different units based on experience and staffing needs. The role is primarily focused on enhancing the quality of life for residents through attentive care and support.

Key Responsibilities

Continuously observe residents for changes in mental and physical well-being, promptly notifying the Supervisor of significant observations.
Receive, transcribe, and execute physician's orders accurately.
Administer medications and treatments as prescribed, ensuring proper documentation via computerized systems.
Supervise and assist nursing staff in providing resident care in line with their qualifications and responsibilities.
Accompany physicians on rounds and assist in addressing residents' medical needs.
Manage the provision of oxygen and perform feeding interventions according to established guidelines.
Conduct regular unit tasks, including appointment checks and monitoring documentation.
Admit, discharge, and transfer residents, completing necessary documentation.
Maintain communication with nursing leadership regarding resident issues and staff performance.
Engage with residents' families to address concerns and relay important information.
Ensure compliance with state and federal regulations regarding medication management.
Facilitate orientation for new nursing staff and provide ongoing education as needed.

Qualifications

3+ years of current nursing experience within the last 6 months.
Willingness to float to various units where experience allows.
IV certification is required, or willingness to obtain during onboarding.
COVID-19 vaccination is mandatory, with no exemptions accepted.
Local applicants residing within 50 miles of the facility will not be considered.
Previous travel nursing experience and experience in rural or small facilities are highly preferred.

Certification Requirements

BLS (AHA) certification is required.
Active New Hampshire nursing license at the time of submission is required.
