Our KBR team in Colorado Springs, CO is seeking a Jr Software Developer Astro Engineer and your contributions will directly impact the success of our projects and the overall business outcomes we aim to achieve.

Impactful Work : Your work here will directly support the Space Force in securing national defense assets and advancing space technology. Your contributions will have real-world impacts, from improving software resilience to enhancing global communications and security operations in space.
Key Responsibilities:
Work across multiple technology stacks, gaining hands-on experience with various languages, frameworks, and tools to support a broad range of applications
Work in languages such as Python, Java, C++, JavaScript, and GoLang, among other languages to deliver industry standard application functionality
Work with database technologies such as PostgreSQL, Mongo DB, Oracle, MySQL, and others
Design, develop, and implement secure, end-to-end Kubernetes or Docker-based cluster and application lifecycles
Participate in software development using CI/CD pipelines, with a focus on security and automation
Collaborate with clients and internal teams to architect containerized solutions and cloud-native applications
Apply GitOps principles for automated and reliable deployment processes
Implement DevSecOps best practices, ensuring security is integrated at every stage of the development lifecycle
Ensure effective log management and use analytics tools for system monitoring and optimization.
Develop and maintain scripts (e.g., Bash, Python, PowerShell) to automate security checks, deployment processes, and routine DevOps task
Leverage AWS cloud services and other cloud platforms to ensure system reliability, scalability, and security
Contribute to the development of secure network configurations and cloud-based security architecture
Maintain strong familiarity with Agile, DevOps, and DevSecOps methodologies to enhance operational efficiency
Assist in implementing Service Mesh solutions (e.g., Istio) to support secure and efficient service-to-service communications
Collaborate with teams using version control systems like GitLab, and work with automation tools like Ansible, Maven, and Gradle
Stay current with cloud technologies, industry best practices, and evolving security threats to recommend innovative solutions
Maintain infrastructure using IaC/CaC

Qualifications:
Required:
Clearance: Top Secret with SCI
2 years' experience with Kubernetes or Docker
2 years developing web-based applications
Develop and implement end-to-end cluster and application lifecycles
Good grasp of Agile, Agile XP, DevOps, and DevSecOps methodologies
Experience with HTML, JavaScript, Vue.Js, Angular and or React
Experience with scripting languages Python, Bash, Powershell
Knowledge of version control systems like Gitlab
Experience in software systems development using CI/CD pipelines
Strong problem-solving skills
Passionate about automation, system efficiency, and security
Experience with Log Management and Analytics tools
Proficient in tools like AWS Cloud Services, Gitlab, Ansible, Maven, Gradle
Experience with Unit/Integration Testing
Experience with Test Driven Development
Familiarity with Infrastructure as Code
Desired:
Familiar with AWS and cloud technologies
Experience with writing custom Helm Charts
Experience or knowledge of Service-Mesh, such as Istio
Networking experience
Basic experience with Big Data
Expert Knowledge in automation languages like Python, GoLang, JavaScript
Expert Knowledge in Database development like PostgreSQL, MySQL, Oracle, MongoDB
Knowledge of Data Visualization tools PowerBI, Tableau, Python
Basic Compensation: $110,000 - $130,000 (For Colorado Springs, CO Only)
The offered rate will be based on the selected candidate's knowledge, skills, abilities and/or experience and in consideration of internal parity.
Additional Compensation:
KBR may offer bonuses, commissions, or other forms of compensation to certain job titles or levels, per internal policy or contractual designation. Additional compensation may be in the form of a sign on bonus, relocation benefits, short-term incentives, long-term incentives, or discretionary payments for exceptional performance.
