Description

American Traveler is seeking an Occupational Therapist for a 13-week inpatient rehab travel assignment, treating acute inpatient and swing bed patients on a Monday–Friday day shift schedule.

Details

• Inpatient rehab setting covering acute inpatient and swing bed patients
• Patient population includes orthopedic/total joints, neurological (strokes), occasional brain injuries, medical, and general ICU cases
• Caseload of approximately 8–10 patients per day with one therapist on per day
• Monday–Friday, 8-hour day shifts (0830–1700)
• May be required to float to a nearby medical center when census is low
• Epic EMR used in this position
• Holiday coverage may be required

Requirements

• Active OT license required at time of consideration (license required if applicable)
• Minimum 1 year of licensed experience in acute inpatient or rehab setting preferred; candidates with limited experience who demonstrate capability will be considered
• Current BLS certification required
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply
• Driver's license required for consideration
• 2 professional references required for consideration: one supervisor from within the last 12 months and one peer or supervisor from within the last 3 years, including dates of employment and eligibility for rehire
• Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible for this position

Additional Information

• Orientation typically consists of 2–3 days of department-specific training; travelers should plan on a Monday–Friday schedule during onboarding
• No self-scheduling; no blocked scheduling or special scheduling requests will be accepted
• Scrubs are permitted but must not match the color of other departments; an approved color list is provided upon hire
• Former permanent employees of this facility must have been separated for at least one year before being eligible for a travel assignment
• This is a more independent role given the geographic location of the facility; candidates should be comfortable working in a smaller, somewhat isolated setting
