Embark on a meaningful contract assignment as a Teacher for the Visually Impaired, supporting a single student within one building in a welcoming educational setting near Arlington Heights, IL. Desired Experience and Qualifications:
- Valid certification or licensure as a Teacher for the Visually Impaired
- Previous experience working with visually impaired students in an educational setting
- Strong understanding of adaptive technology and braille instruction
- Excellent communication skills and collaborative mindset for working with school staff and families
- Ability to develop, implement, and adjust individualized teaching plans as needed
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide direct instruction and support to one student with visual impairments
- Develop and adapt curriculum materials to promote student engagement and accessibility
- Collaborate with classroom teachers, specialists, and families to ensure continuity of support
- Equip the learning environment with necessary tools and accommodations
- Monitor and document student progress, adjusting strategies as necessary to maximize learning outcomes
