The company develops Specs, advanced eyewear that seamlessly integrates digital experiences into the physical world.Specs feature see-through lenses that place digital objects directly into three-dimensional space, powered by Snap OS, a proprietary, context-aware operating system designed for natural interaction with your hands and voice.Specs Inc. also provides Lens Studio, a full suite of advanced developer tools that powers immersive augmented reality experiences across Specs, Snapchat, and other services.We're looking for a Surface Mount Technology (SMT) Design Manufacturing Engineer to join the Specs Technical Operations / NPI team to work on our next generation Augmented Reality Specs!What you’ll do:Collaborate with engineering, board designers, and contract manufacturers to ensure SMT design for manufacturabilityProvide guidance and review of PCBA and padstack designs to optimize yields, performance, and reliabilityProvide subject matter expertise on SMT process and DFM requirements to Engineering and OperationsPlan, manage, and execute an SMT technology roadmap to drive product miniaturization, process capability, and for SMT adjacent technologies (ACF bonding, hot-bar, laser welding, etc).Support prototype builds with contract manufacturers in Asia (estimated travel 10-30%, primarily to Asia)Plan, coordinate and analyze Design-of-Experiments to improve and extend our manufacturing capabilitiesDrive continuous improvement in factory yield and throughputProvide failure analysis and resolution for SMT related defectsKnowledge, Skills & Abilities:Strong background in SMT screen printing, placement, reflow, depanelization, POP soldering, ACF bonding, stacked boards, and other SMT technologiesExperience utilizing DFM tools to ensure proper PCBA and padstack designsKnowledge of PCB fabrication processes and PCB stackupsFamiliar with analytic tools such x-ray, cross-sections, red-dye, etc.Solid understanding of Six Sigma conceptsDemonstrated ability to design, execute and evaluate Design-of-ExperimentsAble to prioritize duties and work independentlyExcellent interpersonal skills with a high attention to detailMinimum Qualifications:B.S. in Mechanical Engineering, Materials Science, chemistry, physics or equivalent8+ years of experience with SMT in consumer electronics industryPreferred Qualifications:Advanced degree in a related technical fieldExperience working collaboratively with both internal and external partners, domestic and overseasSix Sigma Black Belt certificationIf you have a disability or special need that requires accommodation, please don’t be shy and provide us some information."Default Together" Policy at Snap: At Snap Inc. we believe that being together in person helps us build our culture faster, reinforce our values, and serve our community, customers and partners better through dynamic collaboration. The successful candidate’s starting pay will be determined based on job-related skills, experience, qualifications, work location, and market conditions. The starting pay may be negotiable within the salary range for the position. These pay zones may be modified in the future.Zone A (CA, WA, NYC):The base salary range for this position is $229,000-$343,000 annually.Zone B:The base salary range for this position is $218,000-$326,000 annually.Zone C:The base salary range for this position is $195,000-$292,000 annually.This position is eligible for equity in the form of RSUs. #J-18808-Ljbffr Snapchat
