QUALIFICATIONS:

1. PA Elementary and Secondary School Counselor (PK-12)., required.

1. Demonstrated experience in individual personal/social counseling.
2. Have experience with small group facilitation.
3. Have experience consulting with parents and staff.
4. Demonstrate awareness of human growth and development.
5. 6. Experience in administering and interpreting standardized testing.
6. Experience working with school teams.
7. Experience working with elementary/middle/secondary school schedules.
8. Ability to develop programs and to write and present classroom lessons.
9. Ability to make large group presentations to parents.
10. Classroom teaching experience at appropriate grade span, preferred.
11. Experience with post-secondary planning, college admissions, career planning.
12. Such alternatives to the above as the Board may find appropriate and acceptable.

REPORTS TO: Principal and Director of Student Services

JOB GOAL: To provide academic, college, career, social, and emotional counseling, and student specific interventions to support the needs of students in school, through classroom, small group, and/or individual sessions.

PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Provide classroom lessons based on needs and approved district curriculum and initiatives.
2. Provide group and individual counseling sessions for students.
3. Assist students with problem solving and developing skills needed for success in school.
4. Participate as a member of the Student Support Team, Crisis Response Team, and Guidance Department.
5. Provide individually designed interventions as needed.
6. Provide training and workshop opportunities to parents and staff.
7. Meet with parents, teachers, grade level teams, and departments.
8. Participate in development of Student Service (504) plans, IEPs, and GIEPs as needed.
9. Provide counseling as a related service for special education students identified as needing such support.
10. Support implementation of the Career Pathway framework and Personal Learning Plans.
11. Leadership role in planning, organizing, and implementing college and career readiness activities.
12. Participate in building level and district level data teams.
13. Organize and implement the building level testing program for standardized assessments and post-secondary admissions testing.
14. Assist students and families with post-secondary planning and decision making, to include admissions, scholarship, and financial aid opportunities.
15. With administration, develop and implement master schedule.
16. Any other duties as assigned by the Superintendent or their designee.
