We’re looking for a dependable, hardworking Part-Time Cook who takes pride in their work, enjoys being part of a team, and understands that a great meal is about more than what is on the plate.

We are currently hiring Part-Time Cooks for both 1st and 2nd shift.

You’ll be an important part of the daily experience at NorthPointe Woods. You’ll prepare quality meals, support special dietary needs, help keep the kitchen running smoothly, and work alongside a team committed to providing excellent service and care to our residents.

In this role, you will:

• Prepare meals according to established recipes, menus, dietary requirements, and portion standards
• Make sure food is flavorful, attractive, nutritious, and served at the proper temperature
• Follow special dietary requirements and applicable dietary guidelines
• Assist with daily food preparation, portioning, and meal service
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized kitchen and dining environment
• Follow food safety, sanitation, and infection-control standards
• Work cooperatively with Dietary Aides and other team members
• Keep meal preparation and service organized and on schedule
• Help create a positive, respectful environment for residents and coworkers
• Provide friendly and respectful service to our residents throughout the meal experience

You don’t need a culinary degree to succeed here. You do need to know your way around a kitchen, be dependable, and care about doing things the right way.

Required:

• At least 18 years old
• High school diploma or equivalent
• At least 1 year of experience cooking a variety of foods in quantity
• Experience safely using commercial cooking equipment and utensils
• Ability to stay organized and productive in a fast-paced kitchen environment
• Strong teamwork, reliability, and attention to detail

• Experience in senior living, healthcare, hospitality, or another high-volume kitchen environment
• Experience preparing meals for special diets
• Culinary or vocational training
• Previous experience working as part of a dietary or food service team

This position requires extended periods of standing and frequent bending, reaching, and stooping. Team members must also be able to safely lift and move items weighing up to 75 pounds, with assistance when appropriate.
