Overview Incumbent will create and maintain a safe, positive learning environment to ensure the holistic development of each student and staff member through cultural, social, spiritual, physical and academic experiences. Incumbent will support the Bureau of Indian Education’s mission, which is to provide high quality education opportunities from early childhood through life while considering a tribe’s need for cultural and economic well‑being. Applicants must meet the qualification requirements contained in the BIE Job Category Standard. Responsibilities Create and maintain a safe, positive learning environment for each student and staff member across cultural, social, spiritual, physical and academic domains. Support BIE mission of providing high‑quality education from early childhood through life, considering a tribe’s cultural and economic needs. Qualifications The following constitute minimum qualifications: Level02: Obtain an Associate’s (or higher) degree or complete 60 hours of higher‑education study, plus one year of experience in a related field. A Bachelor’s degree in education or an equivalent degree can substitute for the above. Experience should be in the same line of work or essentially similar to the educational position being filled. Physical Requirements Good distance vision in at least one eye and ability to read printed material of type‑written size without strain; glasses permitted. Ability to hear conversational voice with or without hearing aid. Normal physical activity required for field travel, meetings and conferences.
