We are seeking a skilled white glove service specialist with a passion for excellence and experience in handling a diverse range of trailers.Benefits of Driving with DSV include: Medical, Dental, and Vision insurance (eligible on the first of the month following 30 days of employment), Company paid short-term & long-term disability and life insurance, 401K plan with up to 5% company match, Generous PTO package – including vacation, sick time, birthday holiday, 3 floating holidays, and 6 paid holidays a year, Bi-weekly pay with Daily Pay options, $1,000 Referral Bonus Program, Cell phone allowance, Paid orientation including transportation, lodging, and meals.Essential duties and responsibilities include: Driving semi-tractor/trailers for up to 11 hours after 10 hours off-duty on runs of up to one week or more, P&D locally, Backing trailers to customer dock, Maintaining compliance with Federal and State safety regulations and safe and professional driving behavior, Communicating with customer representatives in pleasant, respectful, and efficient manner, Communicating and coordinating with dispatchers, Complies with all DOT requirements including drug and alcohol testing, Securing cargo and properly arranging and balancing it within the vehicle, Ensuring that any mechanical issues with the vehicle are corrected before driving, Swings and secures trailer doors, Performs other duties as required.Qualifications and work experience include: CDL A License Required, A minimum of 2 years CDL A driving experience within the last 4 years, 3+ years CDL A driving experience preferred, Meet D.O.T. qualification requirements, FMCSR 391.41, Experience in load securement, route planning, and navigating various road conditions, Exceptional customer service skills and the ability to handle sensitive cargo with care, Detail-oriented mindset required, Must have a TWIC or eligible to obtain a TWIC card within 90 days, if required.Physical demands include: Ability to sit for extended periods while operating a commercial vehicle, Use hands and fingers to operate a steering wheel, controls, GPS devices, and other on-board equipment, Reach with hands and arms, Climb in and out of the cab and trailer, Stoop, kneel, bend, or crouch during inspections, coupling/uncoupling, or loading/unloading activities, Communicate effectively using verbal and hearing skills, See at a distance for safe driving, as well as close vision for reading documents, using electronic logs, and performing inspections, Physically able with or without accommodation to: Frequently carry, push, or pull freight weighing 1-125 pounds, Lifts up to 50 pounds, Frequently reach for freight at waist level and occasionally above shoulder height or below waist level, Shift manual transmission and operate foot pedals, Frequently squat or crouch to handle and position freight, Climb in and out of over-the-road tractor, 4 to 6 feet, 8 to 10 times daily with assistance of various steps and handholds; occasionally bending, twisting, climbing, squatting, crouching and balancing, Conduct pre-trip inspection for a tractor and trailer, Be able to hook/unhook various commercial vehicle combinations, manually lower/raise landing gear, operate the fifth wheel release level, lock/release pintle-hooks, fuel vehicles and check engine oil/coolant levels, perform preventative maintenance, Must be able to spend at least 5% of day standing and 5% of the day walking on surfaces such as wood, metal and concrete.Work environment includes: Exposure to diesel fumes, airborne particles, and occasionally harsh weather conditions while loading or unloading, Time spent both inside the truck cab—which may involve extended periods of sitting and exposure to engine noise and vibration—and outside at customer sites, terminals, or on public roadways, Noise levels can vary from quiet inside the cab to moderate or loud at delivery or pick-up locations.The expected base pay range is $24.50 – $33.25 Hourly.
