Quality Inspector

Job DescriptionJob DescriptionJob Summary:The Inspector will perform dimensional and visual welding inspections of in-process work and finished products to determine compliance with approved drawings and codes. Inspection of incoming materials including, but not limited to, structure steel shapes, pipe, and plate for proper identification, including material specs, grade, heat number, and size. Key Responsibilities:Perform thorough examinations of all materials and finished products.Ensure work is performed in accordance with approved drawings and Welding Procedure SpecificationsRead blueprints, plans and specifications to understand the requirements of products and servicesCompletion of required reports and documentsWork within the established Quality Management System (ISO 9001)Records observations and may make recommendations for improving processesMaintain a clean and safe work environment.Be proficient in the use of hand measuring instruments such as calipers, tapes and micrometers, Welding measuring gauges.Identify, document and segregate non-conforming itemsResolve quality related issues in a timely mannerWork independently within established procedures associated with the specific job function.Other duties as assigned Supervisory Responsibilities:N/AComputer Skills:Knowledge of Microsoft OfficeExperience with ERP system a plusRequired Education and ExperienceHigh school diploma or GED requiredOne (1) to three (3) years of experience in a quality control position within an assembly, manufacturing, or production environmentExperience with electrical or electromechanical assemblies a plus Experience working in ISO or regulated manufacturing environmentsStrong understanding of quality control standards and testing techniquesEssential SkillsGood communication and interpersonal skills capable of maintaining strong relationshipsStrong organizational and multi-tasking skillsProactive and results oriented mindsetAttention to detailTime management skills with ability to meet deadlinesStrong capability of using available resources to complete tasks at hand.Basic math skillsBe familiar with weld inspection tools Physical Demands:The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
