About the Position

Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Emergency Room Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Day 3x12-Hour Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: 2 years required License: Must have an active state RN license Certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS, NIH, CPI Must-Have: - Previous charge experience - Community hospital experience Description: ED RN needed for a rotating day/mid shift position. The contract length is 13 weeks. Shifts of 3x12 or 4x12 may be accepted. Rotating day and mid shifts are necessary. The primary need is for day shift at this time. Floating within the specialty and sister facilities is required as needed. Weekend coverage is required every other weekend. Holidays will be required as they fall, as scheduled. Patient age range includes all age groups, from infant to geriatric. The patient-to-nurse ratio is typically 1:4, with possible increases to 1:5 for lower acuity. The emergency department is fast-paced, handling a variety of complex diagnoses. Candidates must be comfortable floating within scope with no restrictions. Return travelers must be away for at least 6 months after completing an assignment. All former staff must be gone for 12 months before returning. Most locations will allow one extension and require a 6-month break before a traveler can return. CPI certification is required as part of compliance. Independence and the ability to manage high-stress situations are essential for success in this role. Candidates should possess essential skills including managing ventilated patients, emergency medications, and mental health conditions. Patient diagnoses may include a wide range of emergencies across all systems.
