Job Description
The Lead Estimator plays a pivotal role in managing and overseeing the comprehensive cost estimation process for construction projects. This role requires expert knowledge in bid preparation, budgeting, and supplier coordination to ensure accurate and competitive project proposals. The ideal candidate leads estimation teams, communicates effectively with clients, assesses project risks, and guarantees quality and compliance in all estimates.
Responsibilities
- Prepare detailed cost estimates for construction projects
- Develop and manage project budgets
- Coordinate with suppliers to obtain accurate pricing and deliveries
- Assess project risks and incorporate contingencies
- Lead and mentor estimation team members
- Communicate clearly with clients regarding estimates and project scopes
- Review contracts to ensure alignment with cost estimates
- Analyze historical data to improve estimation accuracy
- Ensure quality assurance in all estimating processes
- Specialize in construction-specific estimation techniques
Required Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience in construction estimating
