About the Position

Key Responsibilities

• Assist anesthesia providers across a variety of surgical specialties, with a primary focus on the cardiothoracic program, including heart surgeries, traumas, elective, and general surgeries
• Support anesthesiologists with placement of arterial lines, central lines, lumbar drains, and Swan-Ganz catheters; assist with intubations and fiber optic scopes during intubation using sterile technique
• Operate specialized equipment including Cell Saver, Belmont, and Level I fluid warmers; set up and run medication pumps and draw labs
• Circulate in assigned OR rooms (4-5 rooms per day) within a facility operating 21 ORs across all surgical specialties
• Fulfill on-call obligations including one night of call per week, one weekend per month, and one backup call per week; 30-minute response time to the OR is required - a personal vehicle is required for this position
• Participate in every 3rd-4th weekend and holiday rotation; perform downtime tasks as needed and adapt to changing unit demands

• Active Wisconsin RN License or valid Compact RN License required
• AHA or ARC BLS and ACLS certifications required
• Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Nursing required (diploma verifying degree level required)
• Minimum 3+ years of OR experience with anesthesia experience required
• Prior travel nursing experience required
• Proficiency with Epic EMR required; experience with Cell Saver and Belmont required

• Strong CVOR circulating experience highly preferred
• Prior experience with conscious sedation
• Demonstrated critical thinking skills with broad knowledge of OR case types across multiple specialties
• Resilient, adaptable, and collaborative with a strong work ethic and ability to manage change effectively

• Expected 40 hours per week with a structured 2-week orientation process, including training for additional anesthesia skills as needed; scrub colors are provided
