Project Scheduler

Description Leidos Engineering is seeking a Project Scheduler in New Orleans, LA to assist in oversight and coordination of projects for a large electric utility client in Southcentral US. Ideal candidates will have a strong background in scheduling complex projects and programs related to the planning, design and construction of electrical grid infrastructure. This role will have client facing responsibilities and requires expertise in navigating the regulatory landscape and ensuring projects are delivered on time and within budget. The Project Scheduler will be part of Leidos' Power Delivery Solutions Division that provides consulting services to both public-owned and investor-owned electric utilities. These consulting services provide clients with overall project management tasks in the areas of comprehensive engineering design of electrical transmission and distribution, substation and transmission line projects nationwide. As a Leidos employee you can look forward to career development and growth opportunities : Project Management Professional (PMP) certification Formal Mentorship programs Learning & Development Resources Technical Upskilling programs Leadership trainings Responsibilities : Developing, maintaining and driving engineering and construction schedules for various sized transmission and distribution projects for public-owned and investor-owned electric utilities throughout the United States. Working with Project Management using earned value management techniques to ensure that schedule and costs are aligned, including the development of recovery plans, to stay within approved limits. Partnering closely with Engineering Leads and Managers to track and execute client deliverables. Developing and producing schedule weekly or monthly project control reports for client and internal management review: includes resource loading analysis, schedules, critical path items and risk analysis. Interfacing directly with the client and internal management to report progress, schedule and risks across a portfolio of electrical distribution projects. Assisting the project manager with the creation and maintenance of comprehensive project dashboard reports and KPI tracking. Background Requirements / Qualifications : Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Business or Finance with a minimum of four (4) years of relevant scheduling experience (Primavera P6 preferred). Additional relevant experience may be considered in lieu of a degree. Ability to plan, organize, direct and track technical efforts on assigned tasks. Capability to track cost and schedule status of assigned tasks. Ability to interact with customer representatives effectively. Strong writing and verbal communication skills. PMP Certification is preferred but not required. Experience in a consulting environment is preferred. Experience in electric power infrastructure projects within transmission or distribution design is preferred. Pay Range $65,650.00 - $118,675.00 The Leidos pay range for this job level is a general guideline only and not a guarantee of compensation or salary.
