Job Title Content Writer & Editor Job Description The Sage Group's client is seeking a skilled, forward-thinking Blog Content Writer & Editor to take full ownership of their blog refresh engine. We need a writer who loves taking existing articles and breathing new life into them through sharp writing, deep research, and engaging formatting—while ensuring the copy is structurally optimized to be cited by modern AI search and answer engines. Your primary mission will be to systematically audit, rewrite, and elevate our existing library of blog content on a 4 to 6-month recurring cycle. Your ultimate KPI will be improving content quality, clarity, and readability, ensuring our blog remains the definitive source of truth for both human readers and AI discovery platforms. Key Responsibilities Content Refresh Lifecycle: Manage and execute a continuous 4–6-month rotation schedule to rewrite, expand, and refine existing blog posts. High-Quality Copywriting: Update outdated statistics, replace old examples, and rewrite weak sections to ensure all copy is engaging, authoritative, and written in our brand voice. AEO & GEO Structure Integration: Apply Answer Engine Optimization (AEO) and Generative Engine Optimization (GEO) principles directly to the text by crafting clear, direct answers to target questions, using authoritative language, and integrating data points that AI engines easily cite. Information Density & Formatting: Structure articles using clear markdown, digital-native formatting, explicit definition blocks, and clean FAQ layouts to maximize scan-ability for both humans and AI scrapers. Editorial Quality Control: Proofread and edit posts for grammar, flow, and tone, ensuring every piece of content meets high editorial standards before republishing. Qualifications & Skills Required 3+ years of proven experience in digital copywriting, blogging, or editorial roles. Practical understanding of AEO and GEO—specifically how to write and format copy so it is easily parsed, understood, and cited by AI engines (like ChatGPT, Perplexity, and Gemini). A strong portfolio demonstrating your ability to write clear, engaging, and deeply researched long-form content. Proven track record of managing high-volume content updates or editorial calendars independently. Expert-level command of English grammar, tone adjustment, and structural editing. BONUS: Experience writing or editing content in the HR/B2B SaaS space. Technical Familiarity CMS Management: Comfortable working directly inside enterprise CMS platforms (e.g., WordPress, Webflow, HubSpot, Contentful) to format and publish text. Content Strategy Tools: Basic familiarity with SEO/AIO tools such as (SEMRush, Google Search Console, Google Analytics, Profound, etc.) to understand user intent and core questions that need direct answers within the copy.
