Description: The unit has 38 beds and serves as a Level II Trauma Center. It is a general mixed ICU with a variety of patients, including medical, surgical, cardiac, and neurosurgery patients. The unit cares for post-operative open-heart patients and utilizes advanced technologies such as VV and VA ECMO, balloon pumps, Impella, and CRRT. The team consists of approximately 125 staff members. Day shift includes 1 charge nurse and 16-18 staff, while the night shift has 1 charge nurse and 16-18 staff. Patient ratios are typically 2:1 but may be 1:1 depending on acuity. The unit is equipped with Stryker beds, Avea ventilators, GE monitors, and Baxter IV pumps among other advanced medical equipment. Candidates with prior experience using Meditech or in CVICU/CTICU will be preferred. Typical procedures include bedside bronchoscopy, GI scopes, chest tube insertion, and arterial and central line insertions, along with airway care and frequent drip titrations. The best personality fit for the team is someone who is a collaborative team member with strong attention to detail. The unit is known for its warm and friendly nurses who work well together. The location offers easy access to mountains, providing opportunities for skiing and hiking depending on the season.
