DPT Student/Physical Therapist - Spaulding

Job Summary Physical Therapist role: Assist patients in reaching maximum physical performance while adjusting to disabilities. Restore patient physical functioning by interpreting assessments, determining treatment goals, administering manual exercises, and instructing patients in activities and assistive devices. Responsibilities Complete billing sheets accurately by end of day. Evaluate effects of treatment at various stages and adjust treatments to achieve maximum benefit. Perform patient assessments and establish a plan of care. Provide in‑service education programs for nursing personnel as needed. Identify and document goals, anticipated progress, and plans for reevaluation. Discuss evaluations, goals, and treatments with patients and families. Participate in hospital‑wide quality process improvement. Supervise PTAs according to organization policy and state regulations. Qualifications Education: Enrollment in final year of a Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) program. Licenses and credentials: Massachusetts PT license required prior to start; Basic Life Support (AHA) required; Class D passenger vehicle driver’s license preferred. Experience: 1–2 years completing internship or apprenticeship program preferred; experience in lieu of a completed degree not accepted. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Knowledge of medical terminology. Excellent organizational skills. Familiarity with Electronic Medical Record systems. Effective written communication for diverse audiences. Ability to teach others. Strong problem‑solving, case‑management, and communication skills. Knowledge of related accreditation and certification requirements. Location & Schedule 65 Old Colony Way, Rehabilitation Hospital of the Cape and Islands Corporation, Mass General Brigham. Full‑time, 40 hours per week; onsite work. Compensation & Benefits Starting salary for licensed PT: $94,245 per year, with a $25,000 sign‑on bonus (limited time) and additional $15k paid before graduation, $10k after commencement for a 2‑year commitment.
