You may review, modify, or update your information by visiting and logging into the careers section of the system.Job Description:At Regions, a Regions Business Capital Underwriter serves in a client-facing role, conducting and evaluating new corporate and commercial loans. This role works directly with Origination, Credit Risk, Client Coverage, Capital Markets, and other areas of the bank to lead the analysis of credit opportunities, and underwriting of credit exposure while seamlessly delivering value to Regions’ prospects and customers, balancing the risk tolerance of Regions Business Capital with new business objectives and client retention.Primary ResponsibilitiesLeads the credit process to ensure that transactions are reviewed thoroughly, in a timely manner and that internal policies and procedures are adhered toConducts an assessment for borrower risk profile, financial performance, collateral strength, industry position and overall credit worthiness independentlyBalances the risk tolerance of business objectives and client acquisitionWorks closely with Origination to structure proposed transactionScreens new opportunities and underwrites asset-based loans, ensuring behaviors drive a positive customer experienceIdentifies and mitigates risks relative to each transaction independently, considering its size and complexityLeads and owns the underwriting process to ensure expeditious execution of new business transactions in-line with client’s expectations and business risk tolerance and guidelinesActs as the central “hub” with origination and credit riskSupports strong working relationships with key internal partnersPrepares comprehensive and objective memos and models analyzing historical and projected financial performance, collateral quality, borrowing base structure, industry characteristics, capital structure, and other credit attributesPresents findings and recommendations to Senior Management and Credit CommitteeEngages in loan documentation and closing activities with borrower, counsel and relationship managementIncludes direct or indirect supervision and direction of the day-to-day activities of junior professionalsThis position is exempt from timekeeping requirements under the Fair Labor Standards Act and is not eligible for overtime pay.This position is incentive eligible.Requirements Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting or a related fieldNine (9) years of underwriting and/or portfolio management experienceSkills and CompetenciesAbility to manage the execution of multiple complex transactions simultaneouslyAbility to openly exchange ideas and opinions, elevate concerns, and follow policies and procedures as definedAbility to quickly develop working relationships with prospective borrowers and key referral sources (private equity firms, investment banks, bank groups, etc.) and to communicate at all levelsDeep understanding of loan structuring, financial analysis, collateral analysis, legal documentation and industry considerations affecting transactions, including experience specific to asset based lending (ABL)Exercises independent judgment and applies prudent risk mitigation principlesExtensive track record of underwriting, risk management, and/or relationship management, and closing loansPosition TypeFull timeCompensation DetailsPay ranges are job specific and are provided as a point-of-market reference for compensation decisions. As these factors vary by individuals, pay will also vary among individual associates within the same job.The target information listed below is based on the Metropolitan Statistical Area Market Range for where the position is located and level of the position.Job Range Target:Minimum:$171,256.47 USDMedian:$211,039.50 USDIncentive Pay Plans:This role is eligible to participate in a discretionary incentive plan.
