Leveraging our 350-year heritage, MSIG USA brings the financial strength, expertise, and global footprint to offer commercial insurance solutions that address your business’s unique risks.**Position Summary**We are seeking a detail-oriented Product Specialist to support insurance product drafting, regulatory filing initiatives, product-related research, and the development and maintenance of policy forms and related documentation across commercial lines of business.In this role, you will work closely with Product Counsel, State Filings, Underwriting, Actuarial, Claims, Compliance, and Policy Implementation teams to draft and revise policy forms and endorsements, coordinate large filing initiatives, conduct product-related regulatory research, and maintain product documentation. The ideal candidate will have insurance industry experience, strong technical drafting and project management skills, and the ability to manage multiple initiatives with a high degree of accuracy and organization. This is a non-managerial, individual contributor role reporting to the Assistant Vice President, Product Counsel Manager. The role does not require admission to a state bar. Drafting, regulatory research, and related work will be performed subject to Product Counsel review and approval.**Key Responsibilities*** **Product Drafting & Review:** Draft, review, and revise commercial insurance endorsements, state amendatory forms, state-specific notices, and related product documentation in response to underwriting requests, regulatory requirements, and filing feedback, subject to Product Counsel review and approval.* **Product Development Support:** Partner with Product Counsel to support new products, coverage enhancements, and updates to existing forms in response to business needs, market developments, and regulatory changes.* **Filing Project Management:** Partner with Product Counsel to support large product filing and implementation projects.* **Regulatory Filing Support:** Coordinate responses to form-related regulatory inquiries and objections; independently address routine matters when appropriate, prepare draft responses for Product Counsel review, and escalate substantive legal, regulatory, or coverage issues.* **Research & Reference Tools:** Conduct and track research regarding jurisdiction-specific filing rules, regulatory requirements, and similar product topics; compile requirements and develop practical internal and underwriting-facing reference tools.* **Quality Control & Standards:** Partner with Product Counsel to develop quality-control drafting checklists, templates, reference guides, and procedures designed to promote clarity, consistency, accuracy, and technical quality in policy forms and related documentation.* **Cross-Functional Collaboration:** Collaborate with business, legal, regulatory, and operational stakeholders throughout the product lifecycle.**Qualifications/Experience*** Bachelor's degree required. Master's in Legal Studies (MLS) or a comparable legal studies credential strongly preferred. MBA, paralegal certificate, or other relevant advanced credential is also preferred.* 2-5 years of relevant insurance industry experience, including experience in insurance product development, policy or contract drafting, state filings, regulatory compliance, legal operations, paralegal work, or a related insurance function.* Prior experience in a law firm, corporate legal department, insurance regulatory function, paralegal role, contract or policy drafting role, or another position involving legal research and document drafting is valued, provided the candidate also has the required insurance industry experience. SALARY: The estimated salary range for this position is $100,000.00 - $150,000.00 per year. This is a good-faith assessment of the salary range for this position only. In determining the actual salary within this range, MSIG USA will consider a candidate’s relevant experience, location, and other job-related factors.
