Logistics Supervisor Location: West Columbia, SC. Schedule: Monday to Friday, 11:00 AM to 7:30 PM, with rotational weekends. Pay range: $58,656+ per year. Major areas of responsibility include hiring, training, workforce planning, coaching, developing and providing feedback to employees, continuous improvement of process and workflow, and two‑way communications. As a Logistics Supervisor, you will oversee day‑to‑day departmental operations, demonstrate organizational commitment, and promote a positive image to employees. Responsibilities Demonstrate and promote Quest Diagnostics Behaviors and Values to contribute to the overall vision, goals, and strategy. Participate in interviewing, selection, and hiring of new employees who demonstrate Quest Behaviors. Drive continuous process improvement locally by engaging employees to implement ideas that simplify and improve their work. Support enterprise continuous improvement methodologies and initiatives. Responsible for performance‑oriented supervision, training, coaching, and developing new employees and all staff on job duties, compliance, and annual competency requirements. Prepare employee schedules; monitor attendance and performance; maintain adequate departmental coverage; provide corrective action and counseling as required; prepare and administer annual performance appraisals. Reinforce customer‑focused improvement by investigating, resolving, and responding to internal and external customer complaints efficiently using Everyday Excellence Principles. Organize and lead projects both within the workgroup and with cross‑functional groups; meet all deadlines assigned by the manager; may present within the business unit. Oversee safety, ergonomics, inventory, maintenance, and cleanliness of the department (including upgrades). Manage daily departmental operations and workflow to meet turnaround time (TAT) requirements and/or deadlines. Regularly review departmental Procedure Manual and ensure compliance; identify need for revisions and/or additional SOPs; develop and implement Standard Operating Procedures. Ensure required trainings are completed by staff to meet deadlines (e.g., compliance, safety, safe driver). Ensure fiscal responsibilities of the department are met, including cost containment, overtime management, and participation in standardization initiatives and capital needs assessment. Work with the Senior Supervisor/Manager to provide short‑ and long‑term planning for the logistics area to meet departmental requirements and client needs. Prioritize logistics activities to meet deadlines. Work with Senior Supervisors/Managers to analyze and manage departmental budget for manpower and operational costs. Ensure accuracy of invoice and expense coding and associated records. Ensure accuracy of payroll and associated records. Maintain required records and documentation properly. Know, understand, articulate, and comply with company and departmental policies, protocols, and procedures including safety, compliance, vehicle, employee handbook, and quality assurance. Demonstrate organizational commitment. Capable of performing all duties of the RSR, Sp. RSR, Adv. RSR Float, Adv. RSR Trainer, and Group Leader. Able to perform administrative duties, coordination, data‑oriented activity, and other professional duties. All other duties as assigned. Qualifications Required Work Experience 1–5 years supervisory or leadership experience Preferred Work Experience 2–4 years in logistics field preferred Physical and Mental Requirements May require lifting and carrying objects. Frequent walking and/or standing. Knowledge Microsoft Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, and Excel at a basic level. OSP, QDTrac, PeopleSoft, and other Quest Diagnostics IT systems at a proficient level. Skills Quickly find common ground and solve problems for the good of all. Represent interests of the company. Solve problems with peers with minimal noise. People Leader Responsibility Supervise non‑exempt frontline Logistics Staff including RSRs, Specialty RSRs, Advanced Float RSRs, Advanced Trainer RSRs, and Group Leads. Work Environment Ability to work and drive in various weather conditions. Travel required. Education Associate’s degree (preferred). High school diploma/GED strongly preferred, or commensurate work experience required.
