Sanitation Associate - Days

Job Summary This position is responsible for general custodial care of the facility and sanitation activities of the warehouse under general supervision. Performs all duties safely, accurately, and meets all set productivity goals. Responsibilities Perform all custodial duties throughout the entire facility including dusting, sweeping, washing, wiping, scrubbing, shoveling, and mopping. Often required to climb ladders. Maintain sanitary conditions by collecting and disposing of all warehouse trash or debris daily and cleaning spills. Clean cooler and cooler floor sweeps and mops; clean dry warehouse aisles, equipment mezzanine, and slot areas. Scrub floors in aisle areas of the dry warehouse, cooler areas, and docks. Preserve floor care using power equipment in assigned areas. Maintain parking lots and front sidewalks each week or as needed. Remove trash or damaging elements such as nails and glass. Complete daily sanitation log to document sanitation activities. Support stretch wrap and cardboard recycling program, including transporting materials to balers, bailing, tying, and placing bales onto pallets. Dust and vacuum warehouse racks. Remove cobwebs from the warehouse area on an ongoing basis. Clean restrooms when needed: urinals, toilets, sinks, counters, mirrors, floors, and restock paper dispensers. Work effectively with supervisor to minimize warehouse shrink. Maintain neatness and cleanliness of assigned work areas and travel aisles. Maintain accuracy of product locations during slot cleaning. Report unfixable or unsafe issues to supervisor immediately. Observe and enforce safety rules to reduce accidents. Operate material handling equipment such as forklifts and pallet jacks safely. Inspect and report maintenance needs for material handling equipment. Understand and comply with all applicable company policies and regulations such as OSHA, HACCP, AIB. Qualifications Education High school diploma or GED preferred, or equivalent combination of education and experience. Experience 1 year of warehouse related experience and/or training. Requirements Must be 18 years of age. Must work independently with minimal supervision and have strong attention to detail. Language Skills Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, correspondence, and memos. Read and write simple correspondence. Speak effectively with co‑workers and in small group settings. Mathematical Skills Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Reasoning Ability Apply common sense to carry out instructions in written, oral, or diagram form and deal with standardized situations with occasional variables. Vision: close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, ability to adjust focus. Work Environment This is a full-time position. Must work a varying schedule including shift work (days or nights), weekdays or weekends, and some holidays. Work hours may vary or change based on departmental requirements. Job primarily performed in a warehouse environment. Regular exposure to fast-moving material handling equipment or other mechanical equipment. Frequent exposure to freezer/cooler warehouse environments. Occasionally exposed to wet/humid conditions, high precarious places, vehicle emissions, toxic or caustic chemicals, outside weather conditions, high voltage electrical equipment, and vibration.
