Job Description

Job Title: Second Cook

Reports To: Head Cook/Principal

Job Goal: To serve the students attractive and nutritious meals in an atmosphere of efficiency, cleanliness and warmth.

Essential Requirements:

1. Demonstrate aptitude for successful performance of the tasks listed.
2. Must have some knowledge of accounting and record-keeping.
3. Must work well with others.
4. Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Board may find appropriate and acceptable.

Performance Responsibilities:

1. Capable of satisfactorily replacing the head cook during time of absences.
2. Assist in the preparation and serving of food in a quick and pleasant manner.
3. Assume responsibility for replenishing the food supply during meal time.
4. Assist in the daily cleanup in the kitchen and service area.
5. Aid in the washing of equipment and utensils.
6. Must have the ability to relate to children and young people.
7. Maintain the highest standards of safety and cleanliness in the kitchen.
8. Complete other job assignments as prepared by the head cook or principal.

Certificates, Licenses, Registration, Bonding and/or Testing Required:

• Pre-employment drug screen
• Possess and maintain a valid First Aid/CPR Card
• Criminal Justice Fingerprint Clearance
• Valid Oregon Driver's License
• Valid Food Handlers Card
• Bloodborne Pathogen Training

Physical Demands:

Significant physical abilities include lifting/carrying, reaching/handling, talking/hearing conversations, near/far visual acuity/depth perception/accommodation/field of vision.

Terms of Employment: Salary to be according to current salary schedule agreed upon in the Classified Collective Bargaining Agreement.

Evaluation: The performance of this job will be evaluated annually by the building principal.
