LEAD COMPUTER REFURBISHMENT TECHNICIAN Full Time Downers Grove, IL, US 7 days ago Requisition ID: 1040 Salary Range: $22.05 To $25.23 Hourly Compudopt's mission is to provide technology education and access to under-resourced youth and their communities. Compudopt is seeking a detail-oriented self-starter to manage our data sanitization and computer refurbishment process. This role will be a key part of helping us sanitize, refurbish, and distribute technology devices for deserving community members in the Chicago area and support our key mission of providing technology free of charge to families and students who need it most. Full-time in-office role with hours of 9-5 M-F, with some weekend and evening hours required. The Lead Computer Refurbishment Technician must act with integrity, be committed to achieving organizational goals, take responsibility for mission achievement, and demonstrate accountability by starting with yes. Major Job Responsibilities and Duties: Accurately manage the process flow of hardware inventory through the refurbishment process. Manage the data erasure and destruction process for all data-bearing devices in the lab. Repair, troubleshoot, refurbish, and re-image technology devices. Follow established SOPs to sanitize devices and generate accurate certificates of erasure. Maintain a clean and organized refurbishment lab. Provide a monthly report on KPIs including output, failure rates, and completed inventory. Assist and train volunteers or interns in the refurbishment lab, as needed. Accurately prepare orders by pulling inventory to ensure timely fulfillment of delivery requirements. Accurately track and scan donated items into the inventory management system, Sortly. Conduct physical inventories to verify stock and identify losses. Assist the Operations Manager with donation pickup and logistics. Assist the E-Commerce Manager with product preparation, documentation, and listing creation to ensure devices are accurately marketed and sold through platforms such as eBay. Perform other job-related duties as assigned. Qualifications HS Diploma or GED Minimum of 1 year of experience with troubleshooting, servicing, and refurbishing computers. Preferred: Associate's degree in IT field or valid COMPTIA A+ certification 2+ years' experience with troubleshooting, servicing, and refurbishing computers. Bilingual in English and Spanish Special Knowledge/Skills: Detail-oriented and organized. Skilled written and oral communicator with external audiences Able to work with minimal supervision. Knowledgeable about technology and its components Able to follow all health and safety procedures and regulations as dictated by the organization and federal law.
