Responsibilities Perform microbial strain isolation, culturing, and testing Conduct DNA extraction from diverse samples, including microbial cultures and environmental samples Prepare specialized microbiological media Implement improvements to laboratory processes, including automation Participate in the development of novel methods for targeted microbial isolation and testing Maintain accurate laboratory records in an electronic lab notebook Present findings at group and departmental meetings Skills Proficiency in general microbiology and molecular biology techniques Experience working in a BSL-2 lab environment (highly preferred) Strong attention to detail and excellent organizational skills Collaborative attitude with the ability to work effectively in a team setting Experience with automation (preferred) Knowledge of microfluidics (preferred) Familiarity with microscopy techniques (preferred) Proficiency in bioinformatics (preferred) Qualifications Bachelor of Science or Master of Science degree in Microbiology (preferred), Molecular Biology, Biology, or a related field A minimum of two to three years of laboratory experience, preferably in an industry setting This is a remarkable opportunity to be part of a forward-thinking team at the forefront of microbial gene discovery, where your contributions will directly support innovative and business-critical scientific initiatives.
