Senior Electronics TechnicianThe Radar Analog & Power (RAP) Department at Raytheon is seeking a skilled and motivated Senior Electronics Technician to support our laboratory operations. In this role, you will be responsible for testing, documenting, and troubleshooting analog and power electronics, assemblies, and high voltage transmitter systems, including Traveling Wave Tubes (TWTs). This hardware serves various critical functions, with applications ranging from RF systems to high-voltage and high-current systems. The ideal candidate is a self-starter, capable of working independently, and is committed to deepening their advanced expertise in analog and power electronics.RAP is responsible for design, product, and production support engineering in the following areas:Power System Design - Power System Noise, System Simulation and Modeling, Solid State Transmitters, Tube Transmitters, High Voltage Design, Power Sources, GeneratorsPower Conversion - AC/DC, DC/DC and DC/AC, Linear and Switching Supplies, Power Factor Correction (PFC), Zero Voltage Switching (ZVS), Resonant Circuits, Synchronization, Noise ControlsPower Distribution - Ground, Air, Naval Shipboard, and Space, Power Generation, Line Voltage, High Current, Low Voltage, Micro-Power, DC, AC, Multi-Phase Power Control, Fault Reporting, Isolation, Protection Circuits, Redundant SystemsPower Sub-System Design - Filters, Harmonic Control, EMI, Circuit Simulation, Magnetics, Protective Relay Systems, Short Circuit and Stress AnalysesControl Systems – Servo Control Systems, Motor/Power/Process Control, Digital Feedback Systems, Command Generation, Inertial Stabilization, Navigation AlgorithmsThis position is an on-site role. Full-time position with a minimum of 40 hours per week.What You Will DoWork closely with engineering teams in both lab and field environments supporting Naval RF and power products including supporting legacy products.Various facets of testing, presenting technical data to engineers for review.Work with a variety of test equipment including spectrum analyzers, RF Power meters, high and low AC and DC voltage power sourcesMonitor and document test results, equipment performance, anomalies for engineering review and quality assurance.Support integration activities, including system-level testing and troubleshooting.Develop, update, and maintain documentation, including schematics, specifications, work instructions, and other job aids, ensuring accuracy to support project requirementsPerform preventive maintenance and inspections on transmitter systems and related components.Engage in personal technical growth, and facilitate technical growth in peersMaintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment by adhering to safety protocols, and ensuring compliance and regulatory safety standards.Travel to Tewksbury, MA; Andover, MA; and/or Pelham, NH may be required depending on the assignment.Travel, including CONUS, OCONUS, and at-sea assignments.Qualifications you must haveTypically requires a B.S. degree and a minimum of 5 years' minimum experience in electronics, electrical hardware fabrication, bread boarding, test, troubleshooting and the ability to read technical documentation or an A.S. in Electronics Engineering Technology and minimum of 7 years of relevant experience. In absence of a degree, minimum of 9 years of relevant experience is typically required.Experience with high voltage electronics and knowledge of the unique safety issues working with high voltage systems as a requirementExperience using a variety of power and digital test equipment to verify electronics performance, including oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers, RF power probes/meters, function generators, and AC/DC power sources.Qualifications we preferExperience working with RF electronic components and RF waveguides.Experience with high voltage electronics that support Traveling Wave Tube (TWT) transmittersAbility to read and interpret schematicsHands-on experience with ACor DC high voltage and high currentExperience working with 10kV or greaterStrong Electro-Mechanical aptitudeAbility to write detailed test reportsExperience working in engineering and manufacturing environmentsExperience troubleshooting/servicing field equipmentExcellent written and verbal communicationExperience in a DoD environmentActive DoD Secret ClearanceWhat We OfferOur values drive our actions, behaviors, and performance with a vision for a safer, more connected world.
