Stick Welder

Ameri-Force is hiring skilled Stick Welders for barge and boat repair operations in Houston, TX . This role is ideal for welders with strong attention to detail and experience in marine or industrial welding environments. Key Responsibilities: Prepare barge and boat structures (interior and exterior) for welding by grinding and cleaning surfaces Perform high-quality welds to repair internal compartments, cargo tanks, external structures, and specialty components Use grinders, blowers, hoses, and welding equipment as needed Ensure welds achieve full penetration using multiple passes Follow directions from Foreman and Supervisor Adhere to safety and environmental policies at all times Maintain punctuality and flexibility to work overtime as needed Participate in company training and refresher sessions Requirements: Proficiency in Stick Welding (SMAW) techniques Must pass a welding test to obtain internal skill classification Ability to work in hot/cold environments and confined spaces Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs and work on feet for long periods No contact lenses allowed while working Must pass pre-employment drug screening and comply with random testing Must be eligible for a TWIC card High school diploma or GED preferred Physical & Safety Considerations: Work involves climbing, kneeling, stooping, balancing, and lifting Vision requirements include close, distant, peripheral, and depth perception Adherence to all company safety protocols is mandatory As part of the Ameri-Force team, an Employee Stock Ownership Plan (ESOP) company, you’ll have a personal stake in company success.
