Job Overview The Grain Elevator Laborer will perform a variety of tasks to ensure the safe and efficient operation of the grain elevator facility. This includes operating equipment, maintaining cleanliness and organization, and assisting with grain handling activities as needed. The ideal candidate will have a strong work ethic, willingness to learn, and ability to work effectively in a team environment. Key Responsibilities Assist with receiving incoming grain shipments and unloading trucks or railcars using equipment such as conveyors, augers, and grain probes. Transfer grain to storage bins or silos using elevator systems and equipment. Monitor grain quality and conditions during storage, including temperature and moisture levels. Perform routine maintenance and cleaning of equipment and facilities to ensure safe and efficient operation. Load outgoing grain shipments onto trucks or railcars according to customer orders and specifications. Operate equipment such as forklifts, skid steers, and grain elevators in a safe and responsible manner. Follow standard operating procedures and safety protocols to prevent accidents and injuries. Assist with inventory management tasks, including recording grain movements and conducting physical counts. Participate in training programs to develop skills and knowledge related to grain elevator operations. Previous experience in agriculture, manufacturing, or related field preferred. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and perform physical tasks, including lifting, bending, and climbing. Basic mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn how to operate equipment and machinery. Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively in a team environment. Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to interact professionally with customers and team members. Must be able to speak and understand English to effectively communicate and perform job duties. Willingness to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays, as needed.
