Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) - Travel Job

We're hiring an experienced Respiratory Therapist for a local hospital in Newark, NY where you will be responsible for assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating the treatment, care, and needs of patients with breathing disorders. You will work with interdisciplinary teams to deliver respiratory care across acute and long-term care settings as needed. Proficiency with bedside respiratory equipment and electronic charting is required.

Minimum Requirements:

• Associate or bachelor's degree from a Respiratory Therapy or Cardiopulmonary Science program.
• Current New York state respiratory therapist license in good standing and active in hand.
• Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential.
• One year of clinical experience as an RRT. Experience in adult critical care, emergency department, or long term care is required.
• BLS certification.
• Proficiency with EPIC electronic charting.
• Ability to perform intubation assist, extubation, tracheostomy care/management, suctioning (ETT/NT), airway placement, sputum specimen collection, and ventilator weaning.
• Experience with high flow nasal cannula, BiPAP, CPAP, bag-mask ventilation, T-piece, and trach collar management.
• Willingness to float between long-term care and acute care settings as needed.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience troubleshooting high pressure alarms and managing complex ventilator scenarios.
• Previous travel or float pool experience. First-time travelers accepted.

Assignment Details

• Shift Hours: 06:30 - 19:00.
• Shift Pattern: 3x12.
• Weekend Requirement: Approximately 6 weekend shifts per 13-week contract.
• On Call: Required.
• Floating: Required; will float between regional hospitals as needed.
