- Conduct thorough evaluations of patients across pediatric, adult, and geriatric demographics using both standardized and observational assessment techniques.
- Create bespoke treatment plans tailored to address immediate goals along with long-term communication, cognitive, and swallowing requirements.
- Deliver individual speech therapy sessions targeting communication skills, language development, fluency, voice, and swallowing challenges.
- Collaborate closely with physical therapists, occupational therapists, nurses, physicians, caregivers, and families to ensure an integrated care approach.
- Provide educational resources for patients and their families to support progress beyond clinical sessions.
- Assist with select inpatient speech therapy evaluations and therapies, promoting consistent care throughout the healing journey.
- Maintain detailed and precise documentation that is in accordance with state, federal, and organizational regulations.
- Keep abreast of the latest advancements in the field by engaging in ongoing professional development and collaboration with peers.
- Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited institution.
- Completion of a supervised Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) if the ASHA certification is not yet obtained.
- State licensure as a Speech Language Pathologist .
- Preferred: Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) from ASHA.
- Required: Basic Life Support (BLS) certification to be acquired within 30 days of hire.
- Expertise in evidence-based treatment modalities for all age groups, with a comprehensive understanding of developmental and acquired speech, language, and swallowing disorders.
- Exceptional interpersonal skills to connect with patients, families, and interdisciplinary teams.
- Ability to customize therapy approaches to embrace diverse cultural and linguistic backgrounds.
- Strong clinical judgment coupled with creative problem-solving abilities.
- Familiarity with electronic medical records and adherence to documentation protocols.
