This role focuses on sorting and processing recyclable materials in a fast-paced, highly repetitive environment on the first shift starting at 6:00 a.m. You will work with cardboard and plastic materials, operate recycling equipment, and prepare bundled materials for shipment while maintaining a clean and safe work area.

Responsibilities

• Sort and separate recyclable materials, including cardboard and plastic, according to established categories and quality standards.
• Operate baler machines to compress and bundle cardboard and plastic materials safely and efficiently.
• Operate densifier equipment to process recyclable materials in accordance with operational guidelines.
• Handle and move recyclable materials throughout the facility using appropriate material handling techniques.
• Bundle and secure processed cardboard and plastic for shipment, ensuring proper labeling and organization.
• Maintain a clean and orderly work area by removing debris and organizing materials as needed.
• Follow all safety procedures and equipment operating instructions to prevent accidents and ensure a safe work environment.
• Perform repetitive tasks consistently and accurately throughout the shift to meet production and quality targets.
• Inspect materials for contamination or non-recyclable items and remove them according to facility procedures.

Essential Skills

• Proficiency in recyclable material sorting and waste segregation.
• Ability to operate baler machines safely and effectively.
• Ability to operate densifier equipment in a recycling environment.
• Basic material handling skills for moving, stacking, and organizing recyclable materials.
• Ability to perform repetitive tasks with consistent accuracy and attention to detail.
• Capability to follow written and verbal instructions related to safety and equipment operation.
• High school diploma.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Previous experience in recycling, waste management, or a similar industrial environment is beneficial.
• Comfort working in a repetitive, process-driven role.
• Strong reliability and punctuality for early morning, first-shift work.

Work Environment

This position is based in a recycling facility operating on a first shift schedule with a 6:00 a.m. start time. You will work around industrial recycling equipment such as balers and densifiers, handling cardboard, plastic, and other recyclable materials throughout the day. The work is highly repetitive and physically active, requiring frequent standing, walking, lifting, and handling of materials in an industrial setting. Appropriate work attire suitable for a warehouse or plant environment is expected, with adherence to all safety guidelines and use of required protective equipment.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract position based out of Richfield, OH.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $18.60 - $18.60/hr.
