Nuclear Medicine Technologist

Atlantic Health is seeking a full‑time Nuclear Technologist to work in the Outpatient Imaging Centers across the Central and Eastern regions. The technologist will be responsible for preparing and rendering radiopharmaceuticals in Cardiac Nuclear Stress testing studies in the outpatient imaging departments, utilizing a variety of equipment while following prescribed procedures. Responsibilities Mix stock solutions of radiopharmaceutical materials, calculate doses, and administer doses, under direction of physician. Calibrate equipment. Perform diagnostic studies on patients as prescribed by physician, using scanners or scintillation cameras to detect radiation emitted and to produce images of organs on photographic film. Measure radioactivity, using Geiger counters, scalers, and scintillation detectors. Administer therapeutic doses of radiopharmaceuticals under direction of physician. Follow radiation safety techniques in use and disposal of radioactive materials. Other duties as assigned. Qualifications HS Diploma or equivalent experience. Graduate of AMA approved school of Nuclear Medicine required. Employment history of working in an office‑based setting is preferred. Specific certification related to position or Associate’s Degree/Technical Degree in related field. All licenses and certifications needed to fulfill the duties required of a Technician at the state(s) and/or national level. Provides guidance and assists staff on non‑routine or escalated issues. Collaborates with Management in the development and validation of methods, techniques, and analytical approach. Serves as a model/mentor for team members on technical skills.
