Job Details

• Setting: Inpatient hospital pharmacy
• Employment Type: Travel pharmacist assignment
• Contract Length: 13 weeks
• Weekly Hours: 40 hours per week
• Shift Duration: 8-hour shifts
• Schedule: Rotating 5x8 schedule with weekdays, some weekends (every 3rd weekend), and occasional overnight coverage as needed
• Shift Times: Day shifts may include 6:30 AM - 3:00 PM, 7:30 AM - 4:00 PM, 9:00 AM - 5:30 PM, or 10:00 AM - 6:30 PM; evening shifts may include 1:00 PM - 9:30 PM or 2:30 PM - 11:00 PM; overnight shifts may include 7:30 PM - 7:30 AM or 8:30 PM - 7:30 AM
• Start Date: 10/12/2026
• Weekly Estimated Pay: $3,280 - $3,520
• Orientation: 16 hours

Job Requirements

• Active Virginia Pharmacist license in hand at time of submission
• Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy required
• PharmD and Registered Pharmacist (RPh) credentials required
• Minimum of 1 year of recent inpatient pharmacy experience required
• Epic experience required
• Previous travel pharmacy experience preferred
• Strong knowledge of IV admixture and IV pharmacy practices
• Experience with PCA, antibiotic management, drug interaction review, medication order entry, and medication order verification
• Chemotherapy, anticoagulation management, pharmacokinetic dosing, and renal dosing experience preferred
• Must have a clean license and background history
• Flu vaccine required; medical/religious exemptions and declinations allowed

Responsibilities

• Provide safe and effective inpatient pharmacy services in a hospital environment
• Review and verify medication orders with accuracy and attention to detail
• Prepare and support IV admixture and other sterile pharmacy workflows
• Assist with antibiotic stewardship and drug interaction screening
• Support medication order entry and medication order verification
• Collaborate with clinical teams to help optimize patient therapy
• Apply clinical judgment in areas such as PCA, anticoagulation, renal dosing, and pharmacokinetic dosing when needed
• Maintain compliance with facility policies, documentation requirements, and schedule expectations
