Registered Nurse - Cardiac Stepdown

Job Description

Job Summary:
Responsible for delivering comprehensive nursing care to patients in a progressive care unit, including telemetry monitoring, primary nursing duties, and medication administration. Ensures patient safety and optimal clinical outcomes through expert patient assessment and intervention.

Responsibilities:

• Provide direct patient care, including monitoring vital signs, administering medications, and performing procedures.
• Utilize telemetry equipment to continuously monitor and interpret cardiac activity.
• Document patient status and treatments accurately in electronic health records using Meditech charting.
• Respond promptly to patient needs and changes in condition, escalating concerns as necessary.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to develop and implement individualized care plans.

Qualifications:

• Hold an active Hawaii nursing license prior to start date and maintain it throughout the assignment.
• Have at least 1 year of hospital acute care experience within the last 12 months.
• Possess experience in progressive care and telemetry nursing preferred.
• Maintain current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification; ACLS and PALS are preferred.
• Demonstrate competency in primary nursing, telemetry strip reading, and use of monitoring equipment.
