Position Overview Reliance One, Inc. is seeking an experienced Maintenance/Controls Technician to support manufacturing operations within an automotive component production environment. This role is responsible for troubleshooting and improving automated equipment, supporting new program launches, and driving continuous improvement initiatives across manufacturing processes. The ideal candidate will possess strong electro‑mechanical troubleshooting skills, experience with automation technologies, and a hands‑on approach to solving complex manufacturing challenges. This position plays a key role in equipment reliability, process optimization, and implementation of engineering solutions that improve safety, quality, and productivity. Location & Compensation Connersville, Indiana, United States On Site Full Time | Direct Hire Salary: $85,000–$90,000 annually Benefits Paid Time Off Paid Holidays What You’ll Be Doing Interpret technical drawings, schematics, and engineering documentation to support manufacturing operations and equipment improvements. Troubleshoot and perform root‑cause analysis on mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems. Ensure compliance with OSHA industrial safety standards and National Electrical Code (NEC) requirements. Integrate and support a variety of automation and control devices, including: Photo eyes and proximity switches Plastic welding systems (ultrasonic, spin, and hot plate) Servo drives Test systems (Uson) Vision systems (DVT) Human Machine Interfaces (HMIs) Laser marking systems (Rofin, Fanuc, CLC, and Domino) Collaborate with Corporate Manufacturing Services and Manufacturing Engineering teams to develop equipment requirements for new programs and process improvements. Provide engineering support for APQP and TS16949 product and process development activities. Assist with the installation, upgrade, and maintenance of machinery and facility control systems. Train and support plant personnel on equipment operation, machine safety, and electrical systems. Lead continuous improvement initiatives and implement permanent corrective actions using root‑cause problem‑solving methodologies. Evaluate and recommend improvements to ergonomics, process flow, and manufacturing throughput. Participate in cost studies and develop business cases for equipment upgrades and capital improvements. Identify equipment failures and implement long‑term solutions to improve reliability and operational performance. Support plant objectives and achieve established engineering and operational goals. Qualifications – What You Bring (Must Haves) Associate of Science Degree in Mechanical Engineering or another engineering discipline. Minimum of 5 years of hands‑on experience troubleshooting and repairing mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems. Strong root‑cause analysis and problem‑solving skills. Experience with Lean Manufacturing tools and continuous improvement methodologies. Strong knowledge of automated manufacturing equipment and industrial controls. Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, and engineering documentation. Excellent communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively across all levels of the organization. Strong organizational and project management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously. Ability to work effectively in a fast‑paced manufacturing environment. Preferred Qualifications (Added Bonus) Experience in automotive component manufacturing. Experience with APQP, TS16949, or IATF quality systems. Familiarity with machine vision systems, servo controls, and industrial automation technologies. Experience supporting equipment procurement and new manufacturing program launches. Knowledge of ergonomic studies, process flow optimization, and manufacturing throughput improvements. Experience developing business cases and supporting capital equipment projects.
