PRN Hospice Aide

Hospice CNA / Hospice Aide Position Summary The Hospice Aide provides personal care and supportive services to hospice patients in their place of residence under the direction and supervision of a Registered Nurse. This position assists in maintaining a safe, clean, and comfortable environment while supporting patients and families with compassionate end-of-life care. Responsibilities * Provide direct patient care according to the Hospice Plan of Care * Assist patients with bathing, grooming, dressing, toileting, transfers, ambulation, and nutrition * Maintain a clean, safe, and comfortable patient environment * Observe, report, and document changes in patient condition and care provided * Practice infection control and safety procedures * Communicate respectfully and compassionately with patients, families, and staff * Assist with treatments and procedures according to hospice policy * Support the hospice philosophy and quality of care standards * Demonstrate effective time management and teamwork Qualifications * High School Diploma preferred * Completion of CNA, Hospice Aide, Home Health Aide, or state-approved Nurse Aide Training/Competency Program * One year of experience preferred in hospice, home health, hospital, nursing home, or long-term care * Ability to read, write, and communicate clinical information effectively * Compassionate, dependable, and patient-focused * Successful completion of competency evaluation and skills testing Requirements * Current driver’s license * Reliable transportation * Valid auto liability insurance Working Conditions * Travel to patient homes required * Possible exposure to blood, bodily fluids, infectious diseases, and various home environments * Flexible schedule and local travel required * Ability to stand, walk, lift up to 50 pounds, transfer patients, and use durable medical equipment safely
