This role requires bridging product design, technical implementation, and operator-centered research to create interfaces operators rely on in tactical environments.You'llsupport the men and women charged with safeguarding national security, working directly with operators to understand their mission needs and designing tools they trust in high-pressure situations. Innovation is critical, and this role requires adaptability and collaboration with technically diverse, geographically dispersed teams. Experience or strong interest in agile development and delivering software in short sprints is essential.ResponsibilitiesConduct structured operator research across mission phases and document workflows, information needs, and task prioritization patternsCreate andvalidateoperator personas based on real user interviewsBuild andmaintaindesign system foundations in Figma including data visualization patterns, confidence indicators, and adaptive UI componentsDevelop high-fidelity UI components and prototypes for inline annotations, dashboards, and mission-phase adaptive interfacesLead cohesive look-and-feel design and standardized user experience across applicationsCollaborate between creative strategy, UX, visual design, development team, and client to create effective design strategiesDevelop compelling, user-focused experiences aligned with mission objectivesRun rapid iteration cycles with operator feedback and conduct A/B testing tovalidatedesign decisionsCollaborate with developers to implement UI components and ensure design system integrityWork with data scientists to translate complex data into clear, actionable visualizationsDesign geospatial interface patterns for map-based intelligence visualizationEnsure WCAG 2.2 / Section 508 accessibility compliance for operational environmentsEnsure product quality and timeliness, provide periodic performance reportsMentor junior team members as experience growsRequired QualificationsMust have TS/SCI with Poly clearanceBachelor's orMaster's degree in Interactive Design, HCI, UX/UI Design, or related field with 3-5 years of related UX/UI design experience in complex technical, government, or defense domainsFigma mastery: Design systems,componentlibraries, prototyping, auto-layout, variantsDesign systems: Experience building andmaintainingscalable systems from scratchPrototyping: High-fidelity interactive prototypes for user testingUser research methods: Interviews, cognitive task analysis, persona development, workflow mappingUsability testing: A/B testing, rapid iteration cycles, feedback analysisExperience communicating designs with stakeholders including product owners, end users, development teams, and managementUnderstanding of trade-offs between designs, technical feasibility, and maintenanceFront-end fundamentals: HTML/CSS/JavaScript to collaborate effectively with developersBasic back-end understanding: Ability to discuss APIs, data flows, and system architectureAccessibility: WCAG 2.2 / Section 508 compliance and designing for diverse user needsPortfolio required for considerationDesired QualificationsExperience designing for military, defense, intelligence, or high-consequence domainsMission-critical UI design experience in high-stakes environmentsDashboard design for complex data visualization and monitoring interfacesGeospatial interfaces with map-based tools and spatial data visualization-What You Can Expect:A culture of integrity.At CACI, we place character and innovation at the center of everything we do.
