Sales Engineer

Arion Energy is a Houston based transformer supplier. We sell power transformers up to 500 MVA and 765 kV, built to IEEE and ANSI standards under our own label, backed by a contract manufacturing network that has delivered more than 6,000 MVA across more than 15 countries. We hold firm factory acceptance test windows of 12 to 50 weeks, in a market where most buyers cannot get a date inside two years. We are early, and we would rather you know that now than in month three. You would be selling on the specification, the delivery slot and the test regime, not on a reference list. The role This is our first sales hire for Texas and the Gulf Coast. You work directly with the CEO on live opportunities. There is no script and no dial list. You learn the product by being in the quotes, the specifications and the buyer conversations from week one. What you will do Work opportunities across Texas and the Gulf Coast from first conversation through to a signed purchase order, alongside the CEO Start in medium voltage, up to 30 MVA and 66 kV, selling to industrial, commercial, battery storage and solar EPC buyers where decisions move in weeks Support high voltage and extra high voltage pursuits up to 500 MVA and 765 kV with utility and large EPC procurement teams Read an RFQ and bring a clean specification back fast enough for us to hold the 48 hour quote turnaround Register accounts and activity in writing, so ownership of a deal is never in question Travel for buyer meetings, site visits and factory audits with the founders What we are looking for A couple of years selling something technical, ideally to contractors, utilities, EPCs or industrial buyers. Electrical distribution, apparatus, rental, refurbishment or rotating equipment all count You can read a datasheet, and you are willing to learn IEEE C57 well enough to hold your own with an engineer. We will teach the transformer part Comfortable picking up the phone to someone who has never heard of us Based in Texas, Houston preferred, and willing to travel regularly Authorized to work in the United States. We ask for copies of anything you have signed and our attorney reads them before an offer Nice to have Time at a distributor, reseller, refurbisher or rental house that carries transformers A graduate or leadership development program on your record Existing relationships with EPCs, developers or contractors in data center, battery storage or solar A technical degree, though the job does not require one Compensation Base salary plus uncapped commission, weighted to commission. Commission is a share of the margin on every order you originate, tiered by deal size, and paid as we collect from the customer. Be clear eyed about the timing. Transformer orders run on long test windows and utility qualification cycles, and commission pays on collection, so year one earnings sit close to base while the pipeline builds.
