We are seeking an experienced Retail Application Lead to design, build, and deliver critical retail store systems supporting in-store and omnichannel experiences.
This is a hands-on technical leadership role responsible for store-facing applications including POS, omnichannel order fulfillment, inventory receiving, integrations, and international store expansion . The ideal candidate combines deep retail-domain knowledge with strong software engineering and system-design expertise.
Key Responsibilities- Lead technical design and implementation of POS, inventory receiving, and omnichannel fulfillment solutions.
- Support Ship-from-Store, BOPIS, cancellations, returns, and other store fulfillment workflows.
- Establish architecture, coding standards, and engineering best practices.
- Develop applications using Java, Python, Node.js, and React .
- Design integrations with Shopify, ERP, OMS, loyalty platforms, and third-party systems .
- Support international store expansion, localization, taxation, and regional compliance.
- Design event-driven and distributed solutions using Kafka .
- Build monitoring and observability using Splunk and New Relic .
- Own production reliability, incident response, root-cause analysis, and operational improvements.
- Implement CI/CD, testing, release management, and Infrastructure as Code.
- Mentor engineers through code reviews, technical guidance, and design discussions.
- 7+ years of software engineering experience.
- Strong retail systems and omnichannel commerce experience.
- Hands-on experience with POS, inventory receiving, and order fulfillment.
- Strong Java, Python, Node.js, Spring, and React experience.
- Shopify and retail-platform integration experience.
- Oracle DB, MySQL, and DynamoDB.
- Kafka and event-driven architecture.
- Docker, Kubernetes, AWS, Terraform, SAM, GitHub.
- Splunk and New Relic.
- Understanding of payments, settlement, taxation, and international retail compliance.
