Position Overview:

The Nicholas Family of Companies is seeking an experienced and highly technical Webmaster to oversee the performance, optimization, security, and continuous improvement of all company websites. This role is responsible for maintaining back-end website health, implementing custom code enhancements, managing SEO strategy, and ensuring our digital properties are optimized for computers and phones, as well as for both traditional search engines and emerging AI-driven discovery platforms such as ChatGPT, Gemini, and other large language model ecosystems.

The ideal candidate is equal parts developer, SEO strategist, and digital optimization expert, capable of managing multiple websites while improving visibility, user experience, search rankings, and overall digital footprint.

Primary Responsibilities:

Website Management & Maintenance

• Manage and maintain all company websites across the Nicholas Family of Companies portfolio.
\n
• Perform routine website updates, content implementation, plugin management, and platform maintenance.
\n
• Monitor site performance, uptime, security, and overall technical health.
\n
• Conduct regular audits to identify and resolve broken links, errors, redirects, and indexing issues.
\n
• Maintain website backups, security protocols, and disaster recovery processes.
\n

Development & Customization

\n
• Design, develop, and implement front-end and back-end website enhancements.
\n
• Create and maintain custom code solutions to improve functionality, integrations, and user experience.
\n
• Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues related to website performance and functionality.
\n
• Manage API integrations, third-party tools, forms, and analytics platforms.
\n
• Ensure responsive performance across desktop, tablet, and mobile devices.
\n

Search Engine Optimization (SEO)

\n
• Develop and execute comprehensive SEO strategies to improve visibility across all websites.
\n
• Conduct technical SEO audits, keyword research, competitor analysis, and optimization initiatives.
\n
• Manage metadata, schema markup, structured data, internal linking, and site architecture improvements.
\n
• Monitor rankings, traffic, indexing, and conversions using analytics and SEO reporting platforms.
\n
• Stay current with search engine algorithms and industry best practices.
\n

AI Search & Digital Footprint Optimization

\n
• Optimize digital assets for discovery by AI-powered search platforms, including ChatGPT, Gemini, and future generative search environments.
\n
• Develop strategies to improve website crawlability, content structure, authority signals, and machine-readable content.
\n
• Monitor emerging AI-search trends and recommend enhancements to maintain strong digital visibility.
\n
• Assist in establishing and managing knowledge sources, citations, structured content, and entity recognition opportunities that influence AI-generated search results.
\n

Analytics & Reporting

\n
• Track website performance metrics and provide regular reporting to leadership.
\n
• Analyze user behavior, site traffic, conversion performance, and engagement trends.
\n
• Develop recommendations for ongoing website and digital marketing improvements.
\n
• Measure ROI of website optimization initiatives and identify growth opportunities.
\n

Qualifications:

\n
• Bachelor's degree in Web Development, Computer Science, Digital Marketing, or related field preferred.
\n
• Experience managing and optimizing multiple corporate websites.
\n
• Strong proficiency in HTML, CSS, JavaScript, PHP, and modern web platforms.
\n
• Proficiency with Squarespace and WordPress
\n
• Deep understanding of technical SEO, schema markup, site architecture, and search optimization.
\n
• Experience with Google Analytics, Google Search Console, and similar tools.
\n
• Knowledge of website security, hosting environments, DNS management, and performance optimization.
\n
• Familiarity with AI search ecosystems, generative search optimization, and evolving digital discovery trends.
\n
• Strong project management skills and ability to manage multiple priorities across a diverse portfolio of companies.
\n
• Experience supporting multi-brand organizations.
\n
• Knowledge of e-commerce platforms and conversion optimization.
\n
• Experience with server-side management and hosting environments.
\n
• Understanding of content strategy, UX/UI best practices, and digital marketing integration.
