Job Description
The CDL Class A Driver role involves safely transporting mixed cargo, asphalt material, rock & paving equipment on local routes. Reporting directly to the company owner, this position offers great pay with plenty of overtime opportunities. Overnight stays and extended travel are rarely required.
Responsibilities
- Perform thorough vehicle inspections before and after trips
- Handle cargo carefully to prevent damage and ensure secure transport
- Navigate local routes efficiently and safely
- Maintain accurate logbooks and delivery records
- Adhere strictly to safety standards and compliance regulations
- Communicate effectively with the company owner and dispatch teams
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 1 year of commercial driving experience
- Expertise in commercial vehicle operation and handling
- Knowledge of Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations (FMCSR)
- Strong skills in vehicle inspection and maintenance awareness
- Excellent time management and communication abilities
- Problem-solving skills focused on safety and operational efficiency
