The core mission of the Child Care Program is to ensure the health and safety of children in care. The Child Care Program strives to provide preventive, protective, and quality services to children in care by ensuring that licensed facilities meet established health and safety standards through monitoring facilities, providing technical assistance, and establishing partnerships with providers, parents, and the child care community. Job Description And Duties The California Department of Social Services (CDSS) serves, aids and protects disadvantaged and vulnerable children and adults in ways that strengthen and preserve families, encourage personal responsibility and foster independence. CDSS employees are our most important resource in serving California’s most susceptible population. The CDSS Community Care Licensing Division is currently accepting applications for a Licensing Program Analyst for the Centralized Application Bureau (CAB) located at their Monterey Park, Ca office location. Under the supervision of the Licensing Program Manager I (LPM I) in the Centralized Application Bureau, the Child Care Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) is responsible for a full range of licensing duties which may include: develop and implement orientations, training programs; review applications; recommend license approval/denial; review, evaluate and verify applicant and staff qualifications; perform on-site facility evaluations; investigate complaints in licensed and unlicensed facilities; recommend and prepare administrative actions to deny, revoke, and suspend facility licenses. This position requires lifting and carrying up to 25 pounds, climbing stairs, sitting for extended periods and using a computer and keyboard. Ability to travel required. This is a 12-month limited term position and may be extended to a maximum of 24-months and/or may become permanent based on operational needs. This position is subject to fingerprinting clearance by the Department of Justice. You are required to complete employment history on the application form (STD 678).
